2.7L MPG

Im jusrt wondering what you guys with a 2.7L are getting and if im around that range...i have a 2001 2.7L Double Cab prerunner with a 3" lift 32" M/T's, flowmaster, and deck plate mod...around town i get a pretty consistant 16 mpg...now i know i could drive a little easier and i've taken that into consideration but i still havent got more than 17 or so mpg...but i think im getting pretty decent mileage...and its pretty flat terrain here in Baton Rogue. also im thinking of switching to synthetic oil soon since im right at 120K miles

 

Just got the GF an 03 ext cab 2.7 manual 4x4. Its sitting on 6" of lift and 35's and over the first 2 tanks we've got 19.3 and 19.0mpg. Thats mixed highway and city, and the second tank was a lot of slow stop and go while teaching the GF how to drive with the manual trans.

 

I have a 2002 2.7L extra cab 4x4 with a automatic. I just got back from a roadtrip and did 2,200 miles and averaged just over 23 mpg. I have a magnaflow exhaust and K & N filter and Irdium plugs in it. I'm always suprised with mileage after I added the Irdium plugs. .02

 

correct me if im wrong but that seems really good...i mainly do 100% city driving since im in college which is a few trips a day of about 12 miles there and back so im sure that doesnt help the mpg. im usually around 260 miles when the gas light comes on. its lots of stop and go driving

 

I get around 18 in the city. Might have to do with bigger tires ??

 

And the 12 mile around trips might have something to do with it. The motor is just getting warmed up when you shut it down.

 

thats what i figured...i guess i could change the spark plugs and see if that helps..it is probably time anyway since i havent changed them in 100,000 miles since i have never had a problem with them. i also have a K&N air filter and deck plate mod.

 

whats the temp it gets over there by you?

 

Yeah when winter sets in the city MPG takes a nose dive. Then talking like around 14 MPG. Being so cold it run rich for a while til warm.

 

well in louisiana during thr summer it usualy a constant 100 but its been cooling off to the 80's until the winter hits and it can get pretty cold,

Kevlar1267 I took your advice since I had some down time and put in the irdium plugs so we will see what it does on the next tank of gas

 

Trying to be light on the pedal. Lately I've been getting about 22-23mpg. Mainly driving on base so I only average about 30MPH.

 

22.3 on regular, 23.5 with 89, very consistent. 2.7 access cab, sr5, 5speed.

 

10' access cab 5spd 4x4. 24.5mpg highway 21-22mpg mixed. Tire pressure and driving habbits go along way towards mpg. When modded tire size,design and weight can make a difference. Synthetic fluids(of the rite weight) everywhere can make a small difference.

 

installed Irdium spark plugs tonight and going to fill up the tank tomorrow and see what happens haha

 

2003 reg cab. I got 23 mpg last tank.

 

2010 Reg Cab 4x4 5spd, 5100miles on the clock. Avg 22-23 mpg bone stock.

 

2011 reg cab 4X auto w/ 4500 miles. 20mpg on 30 mile commute. 22mpg on long hwy trips.

 

This. I have tried shifting around 2k lately and it's wierd at first, but you get used to it quickly. While I don't shift at that point all the time, since doing this I have noticed the tanks going a little farther.

Mine is a 2010 5 lugger reg. cab 5 speed 4x2. I was getting around 20+ in the city when I got it new in April. Havn't calculated it lately, with the big 21 gal tank, I have only been putting about 10 gallons in each fill up.

I do plan on the small lift and bigger tires so mileage will surely drop, oh well.
