love the SAS'd toy.... one question why not go with a w56 tranny ? I love the W56 i have even thought of converting my tacoma to one

Well I went with the R151F tranny since it has the lowest first gear ratio (4.31), and it is way stronger than a W56. The R series trannys(R150F-V6/R151F-Turbo/R154F-Supra Turbo) have the strongest gears and largest bearings of the transmissions that Toyota used in the small trucks. They are the larger 23 spline output shafts as well since they came from the turbo trucks and require the 23 spline input gears on the transfercases. After having the R150F tranny behind my V6, I didn't want to step down to a weaker tranny/case especially since I am running duals.

lol yeah that makes sense I never looked into the internal differences just the feel of them driving and personal experience (ripped the factory R trans out of my 97 at less than 40,000) and never had any problems with the W56

Well your R150F would have had the chaindrive case in it. It costs a lot for the adapters to adapt the geardrive case to the R150F tranny (well unless you got the tailshaft from an R151F since the trannys are the same anyways other than the lower first gear) as well as the dual case adapter. It would be cheaper to adapt a W56 using your existing W59 bellhousing though. Besides it allows you to use a Toyota front solid axle since they are passenger drop.

Just completed reconstruction...
hashemg, I like your truck and hope to go in a similar direction. Have you noticed reduced mileage after the tires and lift?
