What's the gas mileage?

I am debating on getting a new tacoma I currently have a 2003 Cheverolet 1500, but am needing something that gets better gas mileage. I am really wanting a 5 spd manual 4cyl 4x4 with an access cab and i was wondering what everybody is getting gas mileage wise with these. Im also debating a 5 spd manual 4cyl 4x4 without the access cab. what is the gas mileage figures on it too.

 

I saw somebody getting 22mpg with regular cab...

 

i got the best of almost 25, or maybe it was 25 all highway. with the winter gas and the freezing temps, im getting maybe 18-19 now. normal good weather driving though, i get around 22 mpg

oh and i'm a 4x4 standard cab

 

I'm getting about 17 with my 09 double cab 4x4 with a shell on the bed.

 

With the stock 245/75r16's I was averaging about 23 mpgs and most of my driving is local roads. Now with the 265/75r16's, I'm averaging 21-22. I have a 4x4, 4 cyl, reg cab, 5 spd.

 

oh thats right, i forgot. the real good mpg were with the stock tires. i replaced them in august with 265/70/16s

 

23-25 MPG depending on amount of city driving

I have a 08 Access Cab 2.7L 5sp. 4x4, before I put on 265/75/16 Cooper Stts I averaged 24-25 mpgs (i drive like an old man) Had tires on there for about a year and a half. I average about 20 mpg now give or take...but to be honest my dad had a 06 Avalanche 1500 with a cold air intake and he drives like an old man too but he averaged between 19 and 20 mpgs with the 5.3L? Just something to ponder...

 

I get 24 - 26 MPG commuting to work on a mostly 55 MPH highway (20 miles highway, 6 miles city streets) with my 4 X 2 regular cab 4 banger automatic.

 

Just 2 weeks into my Tacoma ownership. Bought a 2010 Access Cab with 4 cylinder / 5 speed manual for mileage. So far nearly every fill up has registered almost exactly 20 mpg average...(19.47 to 20.01) Has been alot of highway driving (Christmas travel) but some running around too, plus winter warm up times. I'm pretty pleased, considering what fuel price is doing!
Also, I'm no expert, but it appears to me that you can't get the 4 cylinder with manual in 4x4 access cab for 2011. One of the Toyota build charts showed it as a doable combination but if you do the build your own it says no-no. Luckily I found a 2010 within 90 miles...Dealerships in rural Nebraska are few and far between!

About 17-19 mpg. It can get around 22 on the highway. This is on a 1999 4 cylinder auto

 

Pretty sure that's because on the website you have to enter your zip code and Toyota offers different configurations based on your region. I'm in Kansas and bought a 4x2 access manual and the dealer had to do an out of state trade. The only manual they had on the lot was a used X-Runner.

 

mines a 98 xtracab 2.4 5 speed but 2 wheel drive, and i got 24.2 on my last tank of mixed driving.

 

My 2006 4cyl auto access cab gets 22 in the winter (with oxygenated fuel here in CA) and 24-25 the rest of the year with mixed driving city/hwy. (I know you're asking about manual trans but wanted to chime in anyway.) It's totally stock except for a drop-in aFe pro dry filter, running dino oil 5w30. And I drive like a sissy -- slow accel, always at or under the limit. You also might check out fuelly.com and see what other Tacoma drivers are getting, there are hundreds of tacos on there.

33.1" tires, 4" lift, stock gearing

 

18.1 first fuel-up, but not sure how accurate that is. The needle was on F when I took delivery, but it may have been a couple gallons from full. Also only have 450 miles on it so it has been all break-in miles in town so far. I think I need to go for a nice long cruise this weekend to get closer to that first 1000 miles and she how she goes down the highway.

 

I get anywhere from 65-80 miles before the needle comes down to the F mark, that's about 3 to 3.5 gallons.

 

DO IT. Went from a Cummins and haven't looked back once! GREAT mpg in the summer (2-3 mpg less in winter) and it just really keeps money in your pocket. 60k miles worry free no breakdowns (knock on wood). And that's with 285/70/17...

Pulled 28 MPG cruising down the East Coast at 70-80 MPH the whole way...If I wasn't in a hurry and cruised at 60-65, I have no doubts I would clear 31-32 MPG's.
