I'm really easy on my vehicles and mainly do 70/30 highway to city driving. What kind of mileage could I expect out of an automatic stock 2001-2004 model 2.7 4x4 extended cab? I'm just bringing this up because I need to own a truck and gas mileage is my main concern. I'm not even all that worried about owning a 4x4.

BTW, I'm only bringing this up because I recently drove a stock 2.3 auto 2WD Ford Ranger for a few weeks and continuously got 24-27 mpg. I’ve never seen mileage like that out of a pickup truck so I just thought I’d ask around.

You are not going to see better #'s than those with a 4x4 Toyota unless it is a Matrix;)....Best I have gotten is steady 21-23 and that is a loaded x-tra cab....long distance highways.... 2.7 with "juice" drive and it is an '02..265/70/R16 rubber.....
