while I got you guys on here, do you notice what almost seems like a third gear and a half?

I dont want to sound retarded but when I'm getting onto the freeway and I get up to 3rd gear its like it shifts up...but when I get off the gas a little there is a more noticeable shift which I believe is fourth.

    Does this make sense?

EDIT: Because we only have 4 gears right?

Yeah this an automatic thing I guess.

whippersnapper, do you understand? lol and would that be what I'm talking about?

The rpm's drop after 3rd gear before shifting to 4th.

Have one with secondary removed. Better throttle response for sure.

I have one as well. Definitely have more throttle response and power, not really sure about the mpg.

I pulled the plastic piece from the fender(elbow?) as well as 2ndary filter , and use the Afe. Better low end , not sure about high end, felt i lost1/4- 1/2 mpg .Good series of mods overall.

Really? I gained mpg for sure over the combo. I definitely got 2 mpg from the 2ndary, lost 1 from the water blocker elbow thingy, and I think maybe stayed the same with the AFE Pro Dry. But I gained power with all 3.

Nothing made the truck drive as well as increasing the tire size though. Definitely compensated for how much low end I had that I didn't really need or want for daily driving.

I have the aFe Pro Dry S in my 2.7, not for any performance gains but just because it's likely to be the last air filter I ever have to buy for this vehicle. I only use my truck like a truck about 10 times per year, so most of the time I'm after best MPG and drive it like a sissy -- still plenty of torque for everyday driving.

I love mine- easy to clean- tap it clean or clean with mild soap and water, and no more oiling the filter afterwards. Looks just like a K&N, but with black rubber instead of orange and a different filament material... bought mine for the maintenance factor, any preformance gains will be a bonus! :D

Same here. Can't tell much difference on mileage, but I hate paying $20 every 20K for cardboard and paper. Easy to clean too, just vacuum carefully. Only paid $30 though a group buy on here.

buy it off Amazon i got minie for like 34 bucks free shipping with free super saver shipping,

I took out the secondary air filter, dropped in the AFE high flow filter and removed the resonator in the fender and i noticed a bit more top end response, low end suffered a loss, however i was able to get some better MPG but i also switched all my fluids (trans, diffs, motor) to synthetic.
