Got a stock 5 lugger and I've wanted to paint the rims. Wondering if I should go with matte black, gloss black, or not to paint them at all. Any ideas?

Powder coat it, don't have to deal with drips and texture. Matte Black is the way to go.

NAPA has "Toyota Trim Black" #7244. That was used on my wheels and I think it came out okay.

This seems a good option to match the black trim your truck has. Other manufactures also make a paint to match, and you could also go factory white. If not, most matte or semi gloss blacks are close, or a gloss black will work depending on your preference.

Any black finish on the rims will look good. I didn't really care what paint I used because I'm going to be replacing the rims after these stock tires wear out.

Rattle canned mine and they turned out great. Just take your time and be patient. Thought about the powder coat option but figured if I was going to spend that money I'd just invest in a new set of wheels. Had em on painted for over a week, off and on road, as of now they're holding up well with no chips or dings.

    ^^^ agreed

If you want quality and something strong then powdercoat but for the price of that you can get new rims. Other than that..I'd say gloss. I plasti dipped mine and it turned out good but I kind of wish I did gloss instead

Sorry but I just can't help but to think to myself...where is that guys hub caps? LOL! I like the look of black when there is a chrome center cap or lug nuts like the aftermarket american racing wheels come. But I'll have to vote on new rims in bright metal, not chrome however. LOL!

    Your tire is under inflated.

I really like the XD Series Enduros, one of the few good lookin' wheels for the 5-lug. I'm getting them when my factory tires wear out.

They sure are. Make sure you plan it out and that they are available.. I was looking for a matching spare and called all over the country and couldn't find one.
