Oil for 09 Prerunner

Had my Jeep Wrangler stolen and replaced it with an 09 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7/4 cylinder, manual. Def digging it! I don't have an owner's manual so I'm wondering what grade oil you all are using? I used synthetic in the jeep but am not opposed to using regular. Alohas

 

Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 5w- 30

 

My 2008 2.7 calls for 5w20, but 5w30 should be fine too.

At some point toyota changed what oil is recommended in the 2tr-fe engine. My 05 says 5w-30 but some of the later ones (as stated above) say 5w-20. I think it is printed on the oil filler cap too so you can check there to see what is recommended for your year. I think either will work just fine though.

Agree, 0W-20 is the rec. for an '09 too. This is based off the fact of newer technology and the over-all age of your truck. Many who use 30 are older thought or older trucks. Temps too though play a part.
