Shocks making noise

So my 2011 access cab 4yclinder 4x4 is making sqeeking sounds from what appears to be the rear shocks. It just started doing it the other day and is getting more and more noticeable. I can hear it at low speeds inside the truck and outside the truck I am sure it sounds worse. Right after I got the truck I put a cover on the back that weighs around 50 pounds. Is this constant weight to heavy for the OEM shocks? Maybe its not the shocks but I thought when I crawled under the truck and moved the bed up and down the sound was coming from there. Anyone have any ideas before I call the dealer and ask them to take a look? If this a good excuse to upgrade shocks and throw in a 3 inch lift let me know Since its a 4 cylinder truck I wanted to post and ask about it here. I read in the forum it might be leaf springs so I am going to try and lube them up and see if that helps. Got the truck in november I am surprised this happening already

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

Have someone stand in the bed, and move around, while you are under it, and try to identify where the sounds are comming from.

more than likely it's your leafs making the squeaks. they need to be cleaned/lubed. dirt in the leafs will make them squeak.

I washed the leafs out and just sprayed with wd40 and all the squeaks stopped! Next time I was the truck I will lube with some good grease thanks for all the help guys! I am still thinking about putting an ICON suspension on with a 3 inch lift at some point.

Ya the noise is coming from the leaf springs its been all quite this week until this morning. I was really hungover this morning driving around trying to find my dignity at 7 am but all I could find was the noise of squeaky leaf springs coming into my ears. Whats a good kind of lubricant so I don't have to do this every week? Would putting different leafs on solve the issue?

I dunno but thats a funny way to put it lol
Sucks, I remember my 2008 civic si when I bought it did the same thing and I almost lost my miind trying to figure it out. It did the whole "stop when you bring it to the dealership" too. After 4 months on and off it wasnt even the springs, it was the clutch but it was such a weird sound.
All in all I feel your pain. Nothing pisses me off more then something new that sounds old

There is something called white lightening or lithium grease something like that supposed to be top end lube and not very expensive going to try that.

You can fit up to 265/75-16 at stock height. Not to discourage you from a lift of course.

Ok so we all now know its not the shocks but the leafs. I heard there was a TSB on this and even getting the xtra leaf for the 2011 but I asked the dealer they said there was not. Anyone have a 2011 and got the extra leaf or the new pad?
