Got a little help on my last post, hopefully this one goes better:

I've been working on my '99 2RZ-FE. Bought it with a blown head gasket, and when I pulled the head off, saw that #2 and #3 were cracked between the valves in addition to the head being warped.

*If you drive your taco in mud, clean the radiator before the mud dries on it!*

Anyway, long story short I've received two P.O.S. reman heads from my local machine shop in the last two weeks and I'm taking the second back monday and getting my money back. Does anyone know a good place to get a decent complete head for around $500? I've found two so far, want to know if anyone has used them:

I was told by the repair shop that the 3 holes in the center of the head were stripped and that it wasn't repairable. First he said it was cracked then it was these holes.......my neighbor said that those holes don't need to be threaded and to make a long story short, I think I was ripped off. Gonna file a complaint with Consumer Affairs. He also said the charge to remove & inspect the head was $450., I assumed that also included putting it back together reinstalling it.

After they pulled it out, said it would cost $500.to put it back in, I argued the point being "So I paid $450. to remove it, inspect it and then set it aside?"

    I don't think so...............
