you are right though, def a concern. but then again with lower gears youll be going slower and less likely to break something just by virtue of being able to go slow and not needing to go bashing.

you ought to come up to big bear and do some of these trails without the snow lol

    not yet... soon

Thanks for the info. So with the gear swap on either the 6" lift with 35's or the 3" lift with 33's with the recommended gear change what impact will there be on high way driving.

your mPg's are going to go way down from stock. Your rpms with 4.56 on 33 is going to 2400 at like 65 /70. if you get 35' it might be 2100. 4.88 they are going to be a little bit higher not sure on the rough numbers.

I had 2.7 4 cyl 5 speed prerunner with 32s and it lost any kind of hwy acceleration it barely had with 31s, especially with air conditioning running. Headwinds/hills also meant downshifting. MPG took a hit. I wouldn't want to imagine the suck of running 35s much less 37s without regearing much less with more weight from 2nd differential in a 4x4. Of course this is just my opinion, go for it.............then regear.

the numbers you show are for a v6 am i right? since the final drive ratio of the 4cyl is already 4.10 jumping up to 4.56 with 33s is close to stock final drive.

for a v6 you will jump from 3.73 with stock 30.5s to 4.10 with 33s to have stock final ratio. for the v6 if you jump over 4.10 to 4.56 the final drive will be low and the you will rev high at highway speed

with a 4cyl and 33s with 4.56 you will be close to stock ratio but with all the weight and drag you will lose mpg. but not as much as running stock gears with 33s since with stock gearing you will be lugging around or need to use 4th all the time

    I'm with this guy. I wouldn't do 33's on a 4-popper, let alone 35's. That's nuts.

With: 32" all-terrains, no regear, no supercharger it was tolerable albeit downshifting uphill on the highway.

With: same + supercharger, it's great.

I'd do 32's, 32's with blower, or 33s + regear if anything. But 35's w/o regear is going to be awful, awful, awful.

Dude, the only thing id own with a 4 is, 1889 CRX Si, 1993 Civic EX, A 2001 fat boy & 2003 v-rod combo, Oh ya I had a 1980 toyota wag. Lots of bugs, still have 1979 drop top VW Bug Kar. 6200 miles. Also i had a Manx Buggy and 2-3 other VW back in the day. 4's have lots more power than back in the day. I would rather have a stock 6 or 8 than a built 4. Just cus. when your building power will b in ? at some time.
