Just got my new Magnaflow installed today. 14 incher on stock pipes. (11225) Try to get a vid posted up tonight or tomorrow. All I have is my phone and nowhere to stick it to record with! So far though I'm loving it. At idle she's dead quiet, same as stock...but as soon as you put a little throttle on the noise is awesome. Love the little burbling when you get off the throttle.

Magnaflow 14 Inch.

This is my 09 Access with the Magnaflow 14 inch. (#11225) Paid about 80 bucks for the muffler, had it put on by a local muffler shop. Took about hour and a half, and this is the outcome!

Is it just me or do the 2.7s sound like a boxer engine? I'm still on the fence myself. I've had aftermarket exhaust on several vehicles, but never a 4banger. However I was surprised at how good they sound for a four cylinder.

Yeah, I agree. My buddy has an old Outback that he's got straight piped and it sounds kinda similar to mine. Obviously louder, but similar tone. I think it's because the Taco has a pretty sizable 4 banger. Considering it's a 2.7l engine, the combustion chambers must be pretty close in size to a V8.

You're right, Blue.
2.7 is among the largest production 4 cylinder vehicle engines, so the exhaust note can be quite deep with the right exhaust system.

If our engine was a V8, it would be 330 cubic inches.

Yeah agreed I think mines sounds similar to a subi but I like it
It's not really ricey and with the right set up it can be quiet with good tone or loud AF with good tone
Hopefully after I get my header the tone deepens just a lil more in the higher rpm

I've driven another TW members truck who has the LCE header. I don't know if it deepened the sound but it seemed to muffle it a little. Same experience I've had putting headers on Mustangs and such.

Oh man, there's a thought. I love my little 4-banger but it'd be pretty interesting to have a 5.4 underneath the hood.

Well tbh I wouldn't mind a lil better torque more than anything

The LCE header definitely makes more torque as well as lowering the torque peak in the rpm range. And it's not any louder running with the stock exhaust. Here's how mine sounds with the header and running the stock exhaust (2nd and 3rd gear run).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFTl75q49e4

For comparison, this is the header with the Magnaflow muffler (1st and 2nd gear run).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvIBURPwtXw

When I dyno tested the header on my engine...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6ofUy8_-6Q

...the peak went from 3,800 rpm stock down to 3,150 rpm.
(the spacer dropped the peak another 250 rpm to 2,900 rpm)

On the dyno, a bone stock 2.7 makes 117 ftlbs @ 3,800 rpm at the rear wheels.
On the dyno, my 2.7 makes 160 ftlbs @ 2,900 rpm at the rear wheels.
This is 37% more torque at 26% less rpms.
