wow !! you all were right

i've been modding for years and have tried a lot of products. high flow air filters are something i put on all my trucks and get nothing more than sound and a filter i never have to throw away. so i took the advice of most everone on here and got a AFE DRY FLOW drop in. WOW this filter is great. my little 2.7 really woke up. this is not something i get on any other truck i've had. SOOOOOO i would like to get your thoughts on a good header for a 08 2.7L . i've looked through old post but would like to know about them now that you have had them a while now. i'm looking for more low end power, i never rev over 3500 (i'm rough on it lol) two lane driving 90% of the time. oh yeah i live in the mountains of EASTERN KY. so mountains can be a drain on power when starting out going up them. any advice would be great. THANKS

you would want a short tube header for low end torque.

wait shit.... i dont remember if its the other way around... someone chime in here

The only other go fast mods for the 2.7 are headers, gears, and supercharger.

i know this much headers work different on all vehicles. my s-10 4.3 got great low end with short headers (wrecked it) and my hemi ram got its low end power from long tube headers. i guess what im asking is for a 2.7 will i get low end performance from long tube or shorty style header

Short for more low to mid power long for top end. A 4-2-1 header would also work for low/mid power.

you dont have a short/long option for these...there in reality is one length unlike the choices you have for a v6. they both replace the factory and neither of them go further, remove more of the factory tubing, than getting attached to the same factory spot

well idk. its all marketing and this and that. the design of the LCE, equal length tubes, should in reality provide more than the DT header but looking at both of their dyno charts...all I can say for a fact is that I LOVE my DT header, really woke the truck up on the low powerband.

I wish it was cheaper to get solid concrete real info. I would be more than happy to throw mine on a dyno just really dont want to waste the money. Each company will show/edit a dyno to prove that theirs is superior and showing more gains against their competitor.

Personally I'd get the LC Engineering header. The posted dyno shows more low end torque and looking at it the tubes appear to be equal length. There are people who have each that swear by the exact one they have. I don't think I've ever read anyone taking theirs off for the other so I guess you can't go wrong with either.

After that, URD supercharger.

Those two things would help you with the mountains. If you don't want to go with the bolt on power mods, regear.
