Reading the Oil Dipstick

If I check my oil first thing in the morning before I start the rig, I can pull the dipstick out and read it, but my habit is to pull the dipstick out, wipe it off, reinsert it, pull it out and read it. If I do that with my new 2011 Tacoma, every time I pull the dip stick out, except for the first time, the oil covers the dipstick for several inches above the full mark. Iíve never had a vehicle that did this. It is impossible to read the oil level once I pull the dipstick out more than once. Is this normal for this engine?

Iíve checked oil in hundreds of vehicles over the years, and Iíve never seen this before. Oh well.

I agree. I think it is because the dipstick has to bend at an odd angle before it makes it into the engine/pan. Every other vehicle I have dealt with the dipstick just goes strait in and does not bend.
