If you want it to work at it's best. It's a calibrator. Needs to be calibrated to your specific vehicle specs.

Mine showed noticeable difference straight from URD, and I cant wait to see what more it can do. Plus it's healthier for your truck in the long run. Because every truck is not the same, what works for mine might be bad for yours. So I say Tune if you purchase, and yes you need the tools to get it done.
