    The block heater is an E Z install on the 4.0 - not so on the 2.7. For that reason I installed a oil pan heater. Not sure this would be good in Alaska. I am in N.J. Works fine for the weather here.

    The toyota block heater replaces a freeze plug. I am interested in doing this as well, the part is not that expensive, just a pain to do. I am probably going to get transferred north and this is the top mod for my trucks health. If you get it done do a good write up.
