Eh. I don't think I'd buy a DC or AC taco. Just too much shit I don't need.
The AC's just look weird IMO and the DC's backseat is too small for me to justify buying it for the extra seats.

I was hoping Toyota would make a play truck like my old dodge (single cab, 4x4 and short bed) but guess that'll never happen now.

Guess my next full size truck is gonna be a Ram Express since the new Chevys are fugly and the new ford body styles look horrid when lowered.

I thought about trading my work truck '10 regular cab sr5 in for the new ram regular cab with the 392 horsepower motor . I bet it's pretty fun to drive . I'll probably end up with something with a LS motor though .

Can't go wrong with either. With all the new DOD and VVT technology, plenty of full size trucks are getting 16-18mpg when drove normally.
I'm just a hemi fan boy since hemis produce the most torque and my previous experience with one proved it to be bulletproof.

Has anyone seen any differences between the 2013-2014 models?

I am wondering if holding out for a 2014 is my best/smartest option?

only thing I ever saw bad with em while I mechaniced at the dodge dealer was that a couple 2500's came in with bad heads...and one of them had a couple of lobes collapsed on the cam

Lets no be in denial here, we all know the reg cab receives the least attention and has been like that since 2005. It was only a matter of time.
And I only like single cab trucks so I guess this'll be the last Tacoma I buy
Wouldn't be the first time, and won't be the last time both of those sources have been completely full of shit.

Pickuptrucks.com was one of the sources that reported an alliance with Ford and an Ecoboost for the 2014.

The first '14 won't be delivered for another month.
But Toyota has indicated no changes for the new model.

So... If you buy a '13 now, or you buy a '14 in September, the only difference will be in a year, you will have a 2013 with 15k on it, or a 2014 with 15k on it.

Chrysler has nothing special in the Hemi.
Hemis have been around forever, and they are now around in many engines other than Chrysler products.
Chrysler simply trademarked the "Hemi" name, but they did not design it and do not have a patent on the chamber shape.

it ain't even that much of a hemi shape anyway...only slightly less flat than most other combustion chambers...and the two plugs dead in the middle of the chamber too

Meh. I'm purely a hemi fan after having mine. I take personal experience over random people on the Internets opinion any day (no offense)

I had a dodge hemi, beat the ever living shit out of it (pegged at rev limiter most the time) and had not a single problem with it. I'm a fanboy. Not in denial lol

No doubt the hemispherical chamber design is solid.
That's why more and more manufacturers are moving to it... your Tacoma has a "Hemi"

I'm just saying that Chrysler has nothing special in it. It is no more powerful than any other hemispherical head equipped engine of the same displacement.

Low end torque is a function of bore and stroke. A long stroke produces more low end torque. A shorter stroke moves the peak power up the band, and the reduced piston velocities allow for higher peak RPM.

10-4,

I found one close but may wait for the 2014...

I am really wanting to get rid of my MT and find an Auto,

and especially now with the really bad noise from 5th gear on the freeway...

That's a newer thing for auto engines.
Motorcycles have run dual plugs on various designs for a long time... Kawasaki did it on the Vulcan 1500 in the late 90s.

But the legendary 426 Hemi of the 60s and 70s (including the Ford 429 SOHC) only had 8 plugs.

Hm. Can a rear axle slide out of alignment or something?
When I'm in the powerband and floor it, the ass end torques/twist down and to the right which causes the front of the truck to wanna go right and sits back straight when I get off the gas.

Axle wrap.
Traction bars will help that.

Bilstein 5100's up front at 2.5", bilstein 5100's in rear + Wheelers 3 leaf AAL and overload left in.

Add two 57" 2x8's, a sheet of 3/4" plywood on top, a 4" thick sleeper sofa mattress (perfect fit, holy crap), a few camping supplies and an enormous 100lb floor jack =
