Yes, the Single Cab is no longer for '15, so you will have to have the dealer try and locate a '14, but I don't think there are many, if any left. I know there's none left here in the Southeast.

    I told you so :D

Damn I think just those two pics sold me. I'm doing LT then later on when I hit the lottery I'll do an engine swap for a v6

no. not sure about the diff though.. dont know if the 4cyl and 6cyl are different.
pretty positive not a single person makes an adapter plate for our transmissions into a 4.0. Also, im pretty sure the motor mounts are the same coming off the frame, just the mounts off the block are shorter so at that point just get stock ones. .

    yep pretty much.
that motor is built for a 2800 pound car, not a 4000 lb truck, be a man and get a LSx then.

I think those little saturn/pontiac mid 2000 roadster cars use a bell housing with a chevy v8 bolt pattern on one side and the trans we have in our truck to mate up. Not sure if the input shaft length is different.

That was my other option just throw on a super I'll get the same outta it as a v6 just about. Either way it's down the road and I'll be do any engine work with my pops. The LT kit I'll just drop off at a shop and have them tune it and build what I need so I don't have to fuck with it.

You know what man I PMd you with a story. You pretty much sold me on the LT and now I'm trying to build the best mini trophy truck that every tacoma world member will drool over. The SC will be urd more the likely unless i find someone in Vegas since I'm moving.

    Side note

I'd appreciate it if you could become my build a taco buddy cuz I'll have a lot of questions in order to build this truck to fly. Basically let's talk out a list with everyone chiming in on this thread do some research maybe talk some shit out and then pull the trigger. After my Settlement I'll have roughly 20,000 maybe more to do my build and will need a few people on the 2.7 thread to chime in and help me. I'm looking to get a mod list completed then be ready to go in a year maybe little more.

And for the record people I'm not a noob on off roading and trucks I'm just super new to long travel and don't want to make a mistake with a shitty bumpstop or shitty anything I just want to be able to have a great reliable truck. And I know it will be a lot more then 20,000 for an awesome ass truck.

Ls1s are pretty cheap these days, it barely weighs more and is not that much more physically larger than the v6. Tough as nails too.

Might be cheaper and better to get a low mileage truck motor from a wrecked truck with a 5.3. They are almost the same and you would have about 1-1500 in it. The truck motor intakes make more low end tq too.

I would put the 20k into a well built front to rear cage, race seats, race radio, fuel cell, and suspension. Honestly your truck will rip and be safe with all of that. You will still probably run out of suspension before you run out of motor.

Total Chaos reg cab race truck runs a 4.0 and is linked. Unless your going to link it a motor swap is probably a waste of time or you just have the cash to throw around.

If you do a motor swap I suggest the Toyota 4.0.

    Just my unsolicited 2 cents:)
