I don't mind the bench seat. Handy for need to fit three in. The problem is the how riders (wife and daughter or daughter and daughter or daughter and friend) complain.

    Close, but it's too long.

And I'm not talking bobbed... I'm talking 2nd Gen factory short bed with the front of the wheel wells right up against the cab like the service trucks at the airport.

    I want a freaking Taco CJ-5 Killer!
    12 feet long and a 7ft wheelbase!

    AHH!

You did the mod in an '05.

I've got an '08, no side airbags. How compatible are the pre-airbag buckets with the older bench harness? The only writeup I've seen installed airbag-equipped TRD seats into a pre-airbag truck... or maybe it was pre-airbag seats into a later truck.
Either way, a fair amount of creativity was involved.
I'm looking for as close to plug & play as I can as I can't have the truck out of service for more than a couple of hours at a time.

Here's a picture of my 2009 Tacoma 4 cylinder with 5 speed transmission I picked up on Monday. I like to go to cool places not test my equipment and myself.

I live in Washington State North of Seattle.

Properly wire up air bag system? Wtf are you talking about. And since when did tacos come with side airbags?

He can just tell people that it's AWD (but only when it's snowy and icy)

'09 and later? '10? They're in the seats, not the doors or headliner.

So how difficult was your install?

I had a write up linked on here when we first started talking about seat swaps Rich. Pretty simple. Extended one connector lead from drivers side to passenger on the wire harness. About a days worth of work, co strcuted my own seat mounts using the mounts off the og bench and a second set i bought. Transfering seat weight sensor was easy as well as r&r on seat position sensor. Pop'd it off the bench and welded it to the new passenger seat. My buckets are from a 97 200sx so.......no compatable but it has worked out great.

Wtf happened. Why not just put all that big shit back on it, sell it, then buy a 5lug and lower it? Lowering a 6lug confuses me....excpet for tor's becuase he has upwards of 400+ whp

    Yes ir it is

Lol nope, got the 200's for 100 bucks and i didn even have to pull them from the car. Tacos would be the same though, extend lead from drivers to passenger, swap weight and position sensor, use your bench latches. I just bolted my existing under my new inside seat mount locations and cut back the factory molding on the latches so that they manuever eaiser.should only take you a couple hours since the buckets should akready have the position tab mounted to the seat frame.

Okay I thought I read it was a while back a seen his pictures lately and wondering why would you lower at 4x4 I would have just left it stock height and put p rated all terrains on it to keep you off roading ability.

    I was kidding about AWD.
You'd have to completely redesign the transfer case with it's own differential.

That's because he has unlimited funds and is brilliant...per say.

Transfer case with its own differential?
