Read somewhere (on the Internet) that all 2nd-gen Tacoma diffs
are made by Dana Corp, not Toyota. Not as reliable perhaps?

Dana has been making great rears for a very long time. I would be pleased if they were made by dana

They are made by Dana. Dana makes good diffs but then again the early year 2nd gens had diff issues.
