Went to install the exhaust but this part is about 5 inches too long.
Called magnaflow and they say this catback system doesnt fit my truck, but that's not what they said in the email prior to purchasing the item.

My options are: A) Return the item and take their 15% restocking hit, or
    B) Get a shop to fab it 5 inches back, and void the warranty

    Help me decide!

By the way the truck is a 2005 2.7L extended cab 4x4(I mentioned this when I ordered it)

it doesnt matter if its a 2.7 or a 4L motor, but the 4 door and extended cab exhausts are different. Probably got the wrong one or the wrong one was sent?

They say it's for an ext cab with a 5 foot box so I am assuming that's the 2wd model. The employee I spoke to on the phone says that they do not make a cat back for an ext cab with a 6 foot bed.I was under the impression that they didnt make an extended cab with a short bed. Either way it doesnt make sense to me how it would be longer but it's built for a shorter bed?

    something fishy here...

Definitely fishy. That exhaust is the only exhaust listed on their website for the 4 banger. There is no 5 foot bed on the extended cab. They only come with the 6 foot bed.

Magnaflow's Description of part no 16625
It's not uncommon for things that fit the extended cabs will also fit the double cab short beds. I'm wondering if they sent you one for the double cab long bed by mistake. I'd try to make them replace it and foot the shipping for the replacement if they screwed up. However, it would probably be cheaper to just have an exhaust shop cut it down and weld the muffler in at the same time.

Just took that piece to a muffler shop and had it shortened.
    Problem solved.
