So how does a Flowmaster Super 44 with duals sound on a 2.7?

    future: lift with 33's homemade front/rear bumper and much much more
    i think it sounds pretty good. i wanted to do the same but didnt know how it would sound. does it drone on the highway at all?

    That's because of the exhaust manifold. Check it out.

    See how the exhaust flow from cylinders 1 and 4 have to travel a longer distance to the collector than cylinders 2 and 3. That creates a rougher exhaust pulse, giving you that 'rumble'.


    Hm... as far as drone is concerned. A careful throttle to keep lockup engaged is factored into this evaluation, which is in overdrive.

    At 45 MPH it's a deep, big block grumble.
    At 50 MPH it's almost as quiet as stock.
    At 55 there's a mild drone.
    At 60 MPH it's an agressive grumble.
    At 65 MPH it starts to calm back down.
    At 70 MPH It's a mild drone once more.

    sounds like you have an exhaust leak..

    sounds great btw. alot of people don't like the flow master sound i actually think they sound great my 40 series sounds great on my 2.7 save for the fact that it rattles due to a baffle rusting loose :(

    this saturday i'm going to be at arrow muffler on delsea drive in twp. getting a aero turbine installed if you want to drop by and check that out. i think i'll be the first guy with an at on a 2.7
