nothing happens when i try to start my car after new alternator

so after receiving some instructions on how to take off my alternator from this website, i went ahead and bought a new one and installed it myself. however, when i try to start my truck nothing happens. what could be wrong?

at first i thought the problem was my battery- the truck wouldnt start. so i went and had my battery measured and it was dead. so i bought a new battery thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't. than i thought the positive terminal was all warped so i replaced that then it didnt start... so i thought because the original battery was dead that the alternator had gone wrong and that's basically how i diagnosed that it was an alternator problem.

please help me out! thank you!

So you've replaced two parts and you still have the same problem.

Your issue is beyond the ability of anyone to properly troubleshoot online.
You could have a bad starter.
You could have a bad ignition switch.
You could have a blown fuse.
Do you have an aftermarket stereo and amp?
Aux lights?

Electrical problems are not always easy to troubleshoot in person, are extremely difficult to troubleshoot online, and impossible to troubleshoot online if people on both ends don't know what they are doing.

I hate to say it, but take it to a shop.
