The 4 cyl does have plenty of room to run a 3 hose intake setup :D Wait, 3? I have 5 possibilites, why only 3 at same time? I've got 3 drop-ins & 2 conical. (couldn't say cones, lol)

You sure you want to stick with the dry filter story? Don't make me come (way the hell) over there!

...all in fun,,, least we kept it reasonably civil, quite an accomplishment given TW :D

You won't get better filtration than the factory paper filter.

No... the charcoal filter is not a particulate filter. It's only purpose is to prevent fuel vapor from the intake from getting out of the airbox after shutting the truck down.

ALL K&N filters... whether drop-in or "CAI", allow significantly more dirt to pass.
I'm running a K&N on my motorcycle and every time I send an oil sample in, Blackstone comments that I should check to be sure that my airbox is properly sealed because the dirt is so high.

This is dirt in the oil... that has come in through the intake and gone passed the piston and rings to get into the oil.

I've seen Toyotas with 100k with the heads pulled that look brand new.
I've seen Toyotas with 40k with the heads pulled... factory honing crosshatch still obvious, but heavy scratching and scoring from the dirt that a K&N allows through.

One thing I do notice in both the car and the truck with a K&N on an aftermarket intake is that they both seem to want to almost bog noticeably driving in decent rain. Not thru deep shit splashing, just at or near hwy speed in the rain. I drove thru heavy rain on the way to work this morning and it was doing it in the truck. Popped the hood at work in the garage to see if filter was getting wet from the hood/fender crack and it was completely dry. This makes me want to go back with oem intake on the truck. Car is only driven in dry weather any more so that one will be OK. Been rainy more often this year too so dd in the rain may put me back to oem intake soon....that and all the scary silica talk, MAF danger, no mpg/hp gain and all the cotton gauze hate, lol.
