2.4L exhaust suggestions

I'm looking for any suggestions on a good muffler to put on my taco. It's a 2000 2.4L 5sp. I dont expect a deep throaty sound obviously, but dont want anything super ricey. Probably will just run a turndown after the muffler. Any suggestions you guys have is appreciated. I've looked at some videos on youtube but still undecided.

Consider the Flowmaster Super 44 for a deep, throaty sound.

Is there anyway you could hook me up with a sound clip of it? Thats pretty much exactly what I plan on doin, just undecided on whether or not I want to keep my cat or have a muffler shop cut it out and weld a piece of pipe in its place. I'm not sure how picky these motors are though, I dont want to start throwing codes and whatnot if I delete the cat. My only concern is by the looks of it, I have some sort of chamber style muffler already, looks along the lines of a flowmaster but has no stampings on it to say it is. However, I had no idea it wasn't a stock muffler until i got up under the truck and looked at it, its SUPER quiet for aftermarket, I can't hear any difference from the cab at all. It is ran all the way out to the right rear tire though, so maybe its a tad bit louder from outside? I'm not sure, but i'm definately not happy with where its at now

I'm confused, your thread says you have a 2.4L but your name shows a 4x4 which is the 2.7L. Not that it's a huge difference but if you get a set of headers it will throw you off.

Anyways, if smog isn't a problem for you which I'm sure it probably is then you will have to keep your cats to pass a visual smog inspection. If you want a throaty voice then a single chamber muffler would work best for you and have it dump right after the cab.

Here ya go my good man.

Also, my buddy has a super 40 in his 2.7 and it sounds great. Other buddy just got a cherry bomb on his 93. Sounds good as well.

To be honest, most of those clips in that thread are too similar to tell the difference.

I have a 2000 4x4, it was originally a 2.7 but the previous owner ditched the truck in the snow one day and decided to hold it in the rev limiter until he got out or the motor stopped, and the motor lost. So after blowing the 2.7 he swapped in a 2.4. And thanks for all the help so far, I think i'm gonna go with either the super 44 or 40 series, now just to find the size of these trucks exhaust pipe since my buddy is borrowing mine right now and I can't measure it......
