What ring and pinion?

Hi guys.

I got a delima. I want to regear up from 4.10. And my choices are the 4.30 gear set I already have, or shelling out the cash for a 4.56. Current onroad performance is nothing to brag about. Don't have a tach so I'm not sure what my RPMs are at cruise. Working on an ultraguage but in the meantime...

Running a 6 lug Auto 2.7 2WD. Future plans include getting a mild lift. Won't be going bigger than 31's though.

Thoughts from those of you that have regeared? Is it worth it?

You mean the 4.30? or the 4.10?

Generally speaking taller gears will help out with low end acceleration. Shorter gears help with fuel economy at the highway speeds. So the question is do you do more city driving or highway driving? Also taller tires require more energy to get and keep rolling so often people put taller gears to help with the power lost from taller tires. I've never done a gear swap, but there have been times when ive wanted to because all of my driving is stop and go city and I like the improved acceleration.

I understand the reasons to re-gear, I'm asking if the 5% or so increase would be worth the trouble of swapping the rear end. But thanks.
