2012taco break in

Hey guys I just picked up my new Tacoma yesterday and it's everything I've dreamed of! My question is how long is the break In Period ? The dealer wants me to wait 8k before changing the oil this seems like a long time to me. I was considering doing it earlier any thoughts?

the oil change intervals on the 2.7L is 5k miles. I wouldn't let them wait until 8k to change it. as far as the break in period, personally i break engines in hard and i did the same for my tacoma and its been fine so far

 

Beauty thanks a lot. My buddy told me to do the same so I let her drink some fuel a couple times a day and as far as an early Change for the first one? Can't do any harm right? Lol

My dealer did show me and requested I please return as close as possible to 5K,
and she pointed out my handy window reminder sticker that also said 5k,
