4Banger and 35s Q

Can a 4 cylinder handle 35's (315x75xR16) on stock gears? Does anyone know how it performs going from stock hieght and tires to a higher lift and 35s?

Sluggish I'm guessing. Go with 4.88s.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Plenty of people run 33s with the 4 banger and say its sluggish and struggles uphill.

You will NEED to regear unless you dont care about power. There are many places for gears just do a google search and you will get a ton of places that sell them.

Yes.

Clearly you know enough to know you'll need to regear, sooo...

The big question, is your truck manual or auto?

If auto, without a doubt I'd regear to 5.29s.

If manual, you can get by on stock 4.30 gears quite well. I DD my truck and drove around for a couple of months like that before I regeared to 5.29s. No problems at all except for the obvious decrease in power but I changed my shifting habits to make up for that. I lost about 2-3 highway mpg going from 33s to 35s on stock gears and another 2-ish going to 5.29s.

Best combo between power and efficiency for a manual is probably 4.88s though.

I had 32's on my '94 5-lug, 22RE, manual trans.

It was terrible.
Needed to downshift to maintain 80 on even a slight incline, and going up a grade, if someone cut me off and I had to drop below 50, I was screwed and could never recover.

35's on 4.10's in a 4cyl

Pretty much kiss your first gear and fifth gear goodbye. Gonna be wayyyyy slow. 4.88's and 33"s get you back to about the stock powerband. For 35's id go 5.29.
Dont expect to be able to go above 60 tho if you arent gonna regear.

Just put the 35s on it and see how you like it.I have a second gen prerunner with 35s and its a 2.7 4cylinder with a manual.I noticed a decrease in power but its not a big deal to me. I get about 20 mpgs. My trucks not fast at all but I can pull into traffic without worrying ive gone offroad to and stalled it ive gotten more use to the clutch now though. But if you have 4x4 you could.pit it in 4lo.
Ill try to post up a zero to sixty video of my truck one day
