    What is that sound that stick shifts make in reverse? What causes it? Mine does it and I think it sounds sorta cool. Does the sound very from brand to brand?

    Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    Forward gears have helical cut teeth. The reverse gears in your transmission have straight cut teeth. It makes them noisier.
