I can sometimes hear a slight tick to my 2010, but I believe it is injectors. It's a 2.7, it will run until the end of time!!!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Yours is still breaking in, it may go away after awhile. These engines seem to get better with mileage after they loosen up a bit. But there is lots of Toyotas like this, this has been dubbed the Toyota Tick, I don't know if mine does it, I can't ever hear any tick, but I will pop the hood next time it's running and check. Sometimes on real cold mornings it knocks a bit, but that is it.

I got a knock twice whe I didn't let it warm up at all when it was super cold but that's only times.
