whats your atf fluid change interval 2.7

Despite what your owners man says how often do you change your atf fluid and filter on your 2.7 taco and do you use original atf or syn fluid. if you did change to syn fluid did you have to evacuate the whole system ?

 

Just a pan drain and refill with Toyota T-IV fluid is all you need.
No need for a full flush. ATF is primarily a hydraulic fluid more than a lubricant. Toyota T-IV is as good as any non-Toyota fluid.
Be careful, these trannies can get wonky with the improper fluid.

 

The factory service interval is 100k but ^^^ this is what I did at 60k miles... drained and filled 3.5qt T-IV fluid, then drove 1000 miles to mix it up good and drained & filled again with 3.5qt T-IV. By my math this replaced around 40% of the fluid which is fine for another 80-90k. I'll do a full service at around 140-150k (pan drop, filter replace, flush & fill providing 100% fluid replacement).
