Drop the tank and unbolt the fuel pump assy.I feel if you are going to replace the fuel filter. You might as well replace the fuel pump while everything is opened upWhy do you feel you need to replace the fuel filter?

It just has a sock type filter around the pump. If you want to have a fuel filter that can be changed then I would look into the URD fuel pump kit. It comes with an external filter that you can mount on the frame and then change it as needed.
