Help buying toy 89 22re ticking noise

    What is nornal ticking noise for 22re i heard that these engine had a bit ricking noise but i am wondering if it is a safe buy how i can be sure is nornal noise or not crank bearing or rod bearing wis pin ... Help would be apreciate thanks you

    Is the sound coming from top or bottom and how many miles? Is it loud? Does it get worst if the engine is spend up ? It could be a bad lifter, or just a normal sound.

    the truck is 2 hours far from me so i cant tell the sound i asked the guy to make a video of the truck and the frame everything but the video is to heavy to be sent... 185 000 kilo not miles what should i ask to him ? he said that the head just been planned and the valve sealed and ajusted by the garage probably not toyota garage.. thanks for reply!

    i dont know if i made the good choise i bought it ... it have a exaust leak and 2 hole in the floor so we hear the exaust leak kinda a lot and here i have a video of the motor noise im gona post it

    diagnosticing* bymyself via watching youtube video it not sound like rod knock or winspin look like valve ajustment sorry for bad english guys.

    Yeah, more than likely valves. The 3 I've had were all pretty noisy. Easy to adjust though. Instructions are everywhere and simple to follow :)

    thanks for your reply tacomarob, i probably could do it myselft ? what you think about it ? i need a (gauge/gage) for mesurment isnt it ? coulnd find this on ebay probably or at local shop for cheap hope so and can i still use my truck wihtout break something ?

    Just buy some feeler gauges from any parts shop. Get the ones that are bent, the straight ones can be a pain. Easily doable by yourself. If you have money you could go to a shop, but it's pretty painless.

    I made them worse the first time I did them but after that it was easy.
