I got a new to me 2005 4cyl 5-speed manual with 4x4 and sr5. The manual lists two engine model numbers. Which one do I have. I searched all my dealer paperwork and checked under the hood and the door plate. The reason I want to know is the manual recommends hight octane for one engine over the other.
    Thanks!

4 bangers only need regular gas while the 6 cylinder can use either, but it gets better performance with higher octane IIRC. Oh, and your engine designation is the 2TR-FE while the V6 is 1GR-FE.

I figured the six was the one the manual was refering to as recomending the 91 octane. Just got rid of my 22-RE at 196,000.
    Thanks!
