There's been a fairly long discussion on that in this thread:

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/4-c...challenge.html

Not all of them are 5 lug regular cabs so you may want to sift through some.

I drive a no frills base model 2012 STD cab 2WD 5 lug that is presently averaging 24.3 mpg with a mixture of city/rural driving, and no freeway. It's used for work and so is always driven loaded with about 800 pounds of materials and tools.

I get between 23.5 and 25.5
45 mile each way to and from work. Free-flowing 70mph in the morning, bumper to bumper for 2 hours evening.

So you get ~24mpg @ 70mph?

24mpg is reasonable. 60mph is 2,000rpm, so even 70mph is still only about 2,300rpm.

Just watch it on the hills, especially if cruise control is enabled. On the hills drive more with RPM in mind. I guess drive in general with RPM in mind more than speed. You may slow a little going up a steep grade but try to keep it around 2000 RPM. You can get back up to speed easily on the other side.

The 2.7 is a bit different. A 60mph cruise is probably closer to 1800, but on a grade, there's often no choice but to let it downshift.

Hey that's interesting...
There must be a difference in high gear between a manual and an auto. I have a 5 speed stick and 60mph is exactly 2,000rpm (and 90mph is exactly 3,000rpm). Your automatic must have a higher overdrive if it's only 1,800.

Also keep in mind that the speedometers are about 6% off.
70 indicated on my dash is closer to 65-67 on the GPS.
