I'd like to give this thread a lil bump! Can you guys post some more pics of your rigs? Thinking about moving up to these as well!

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

Those ATMs are my next set of tires dude. Used them before and they are great for the money.

OP, if you're supper worried about dragging the truck down, put the lightest wheel on it that you can find. Less weight = less rolling momentum = better mpg and quicker acceleration (even with the drag of an aggressive tred, if you go from a 30lbs wheel to a 20lbs wheel, you'll notice it).

And what made you decide to go 17"? I prefer 16"

I have a 4.0L truck because I couldn't find a regular cab 4x4 with low enough miles. The 2.7L is the toughest engine Toyota has ever made.

The ATM is an AT....why don't you check out the hankook Dynapro MT if you really THINK you need an MT.

Yeah, I thought of that. Not exactly sure of the weight of the Strike 6's but one of the bullet points of them was their light weight.

As far as 17" vs 16", that was another mistake of mine. I was originally looking at a wheel that only came in 17",18" and 20", so I got it stuck in my head that I needed a 17". Looking back I definitely should have stuck with a 16" if for no other reason, it would have opened my options to get a smaller tire if needed without having to go to another wheel. So to sum it up, I should have gone with a 16X8" wheel with -0 offset and a 265/75/16 tire.

I'll try to get some pictures later for those of you who are interested.

If you are running a 17" tire you might try a 255/75/17, it's a 32" tire. I'm running these in the hankook dynapro atm and I love them and they are fairly light weight.

I run 33x12.50x15 and have a 4 cylinder 5 speed and it doesn't really bog it down or anything it probably knocks it down maybe 2 mpg or less. I don't have any problem hauling them around and still have plenty of get up and go if need be.

Here's a couple different angles. Obviously they don't stick WAY out, just about 12 mm, haha.

For what it's worth, we had snow and ice on the road for a little over a week in mid December (rare for us), happy to report the Goodyear Duratracs (as well as the Tacoma) did awesome on that.

I had an 09 ac 4x4, had 265/75 16 duratracs put on, you will notice it, but able to live with it, I think I lost 1-2 mpgs and was still able to climb Hills, albeit with an extra downshift to third on most steeper grades, but I was able to stay at the limit with no problems, don't fret it's not that bad and those duratracs are superb, till they get about 40000 miles on them and you have to rotate them every 3000 to keep the humming and buzzing down. Get them balanced often, take advantage of lifetime balancing and rotation if your shop offers it free, I think some do, mine does

Mine rubbed on the lca, and skid plate with stock 16" alloys but only on one side, both with and without a lift, could be to a crappy alignment, I think I aligned it about 5 times to get it where I wanted it, and with a shop that didn't suck ass

I get rubbing when backing with anything more than a mild turn. I also get rubbing when going forward, turned tight, while braking. As long as I'm accelerating it's fine.

I"ve got 9" wheels with -12 offset. I think being "pushed out" is the problem. If the wheels had about 1 inch less front space they wouldn't rub at all on the front plastic. Eventually I'll get around to taking a heat gun to the inner plastic fenders. I imagine any kind of off roading would also have the back of the tires hitting the cab mounts. So I'll have to address that as well. I'll take some pictures of what I'm talking about later today, if I can remember it.

Here's a couple pictures. Not really sure if it's clear how close the tires are to the inner fenders or cab mount in these, but sitting fairly level the tires are about 3/8 of an inch away from these respective parts.

Love the height of the truck, people don't believe its 4 cyl and 2wd. Got to say it is BAD in sno till I put 4 solid conc. blocks in back. Just tie them together with a strap.
Going to purchase new wheels (Worx 803Beast) and Michlin LTX M/S2

I am running 265/75/R16 KO2s, E-Rated, on my 2001, 2.7, Auto. No issues whatsoever. It is pretty slow but still rides great with a small lift.
