TRD 16" wheels and a lift

Hey guys, I have been doing a little research and trying to get an opinion on if doing the toytech ultimate lift and trd 16" bead lock wheels. Will it kill my acceleration by allot or a little? Most guys who did it that I've read have the v6. I plan on running 265/70R16 on the trd wheels from the stock 245's. Will it be a huge loss in acceleration or will it be not noticeable after a while of driving it?

I did research and the weight of the bead lock wheels are 26lbs and the stock steelies are 26 as well. I know that running the bigger tires will add more weight.

I went from the 265/65R17 sport edition wheels with BS Dueler tires and went to the same bead locker style wheels with 265/75R16 BFG All Terrains and Bilstein 5100's at 1.75" up front, noticed no real difference in acceleration whatsoever. Dont know if this helps you but just my input.

I'm still running 245s I would imagine it would be noticeable as the 2.7 is a dog already.

I know this is prob the most noob question but will the lift by itself slow the trucks acceleration down at all?

It will hurt mpg shouldn't hurt acceleration to much if at all. Your adding extra weight and changing the aerodynamics of the truck.

Thats what I figured, but I didnt want to spend all that money and regret it later on. I know I will probably loose some power but a huge amount.

The research I'd done in the past on the 16" stock steel rims had them at about 28 lbs. If the alloys you're looking at are 26, then you've got a couple of lbs savings.

According to the tire size calculator, the size you're looking at is very similar in diameter.

The stock tires weigh 32 lbs. Depending on which 265/70-16's you're looking at, they can weigh as much as 51 lbs for the Silent Armor Pro-Grade. Look at them all on Tire Rack. Decent all terrain tires that people give decent reviews for weigh about 40 lbs. Be careful with the tire weight.

Since you're really not gaining any height, you may want to stick with stock size and just get a better tire. You may save a few pounds over the 265/70-16's that way. Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar and BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A (decent reviews) are 37 lbs. When combined with the TRD wheels I doubt you'd see a difference in acceleration (3 lbs per wheel), but you'd see an increase in overall performance/capability. They'd look a lot better too. If the TRD wheels are 16x8, that's still within spec for the tires.

This is assuming you're wanting an all terrain tire. If you stick with all season, you could save more weight.

The Tires that I am looking at are the Cooper Discoverer A/T3, They dont seem to bad from reviews.

The 16" trd wheels are rated for the 265/70 size tires. Now I want to have a little bit of poke outside of the fenders. Do you think this could be accomplished by going for 275's? I am ordering the toytech ultimate 3" lift will that allow for more clearance or no?
