    After reading many post , it says that the 4 cyl may be low in power. It is difficult to me to get an idea of it.

    To help me to understand , I have for 12 years a chevrolet tracker hardtop, 4 cyl 2.0 liter manual. Here are the specs for it :
    Compression ratio : 9.7:1
    Horsepower : 127 @ 6000 rpm
    Torque : 134 lb - ft @ 3000 rpm
    Gear ratios ( : 1)
    1st = 3.65
    2nd = 1.95
    3rd = 1.38
    4th = 1.00
    5th = 0.80
    Reverse= 3.67
    Final Drive Ratio = 5.12:1
    Gross Vehicle Weight Rating = 3924 lbs

    Still I managed to do everything I wanted with this car , so is that the tacoma extra cab 4 cyl 2.7 liter is less speed and less power compared to chevrolet tracker, it will be the same? it will be better?

    Tacoma 2.7L 4 cyl specs :
    Compression Ratio = 9.6:1
    Horsepower 159 hp @ 5,200 rpm
    Torque = 180 lb.ft @ 3,800 rpm
    1st = 3.95
    2nd = 2.06
    3rd = 1.44
    4th = 1,
    5th = 0.81
    Reverse = 4.22
    Final Drive Ratio = 4.100 :1
    Gross Vehicle Weight Rating = 4600.00 lbs

    is there a formula to help compare?
    :)
    I currently have a 2012 xterra pro-4x automatique, I am so sorry not to have manual ( i always have manual before...). I will think to change for tacoma, the xterra is too much power for my needs and it is horrible gas consumption ± 8 mpg in winter and 16 mpg in summer . (I live in a place where the winter is -13 º F and colder ...)

    thank you for helping me to understand.
