Notice any sound difference with the Headers?

This is how my header sounds inside the cab...

I don't think it's that loud. Most of the noise people hear is their muffler and tailpipe.

Yeah... this is what you hear outside the cab even with the super quiet stock muffler and stock tail pipe... ;)

I got the longest intake tube I could find because it sounds better than a loud muffler. ;)

Thanks for the quick reply. With the install did you only need to purchase the headers and use stock bolts to put it on?

This and the tooter are on my short list of things I want to do to my truck along with a bedrug, undercover tonneau cover, 3" lift, rims/tires and tinted front windows. I really love the way my truck looks so I don't want to change too much.

quick question, does the LCE header bolt right up to the stock exhaust? Or does it require some modifications to make it fit?

Main reason I ask, I don't have a welder and would like to eventually get one of these and really hate getting shops to do installs for me. I have had some bad experiences with shops.. namely installing headers on vehicles

No welding. The header fits like a glove. :)
The stock down pipe remains exactly where it was with the original manifold.

    Youre the man, Greg!

Thanks a bunch! As soon as I get back from my trip to Texas I will be starting to save for one.

Yep. Direct fit. No change in sound as far as I can tell. Definitely worth doing.

Mines just came in super stoked to install it wouldn't mind having a lil more umph in the dreaded 2nd and 3rd gears haha. Might make mines a lil louder unsure I already have a Aero Turbine 2525. Will also be adding URD MAF Cal when it arrives.

Did you get the URD MAF with the plug and play wiring harness?

No I ordered it as is no harness. The harness came out to almost 100 more than the calibrator after shipping to Hawaii and its only 2 lbs. My MAF wont be here for awhile since its on backorder hopefully by next week or so

I floor it all the time.
73 dB in the cabin just like before. Stock exhaust, extra sound insulation.

I didn't think of it, but in the interest of header science, I wish I had marked the temperature gauge before. I think (but am not sure) it was half way between H and C, and now it is slightly below half way. I had been a little concerned about losing the heat shield, but it looks like it is running cooler than before. Makes sense, if the exhaust is departing for Al Gore's house quicker.

It's very likely you might be running just a tad bit cooler. Those four longer larger diameter runners make a big "heat sink".

When I had my stock exhaust it was also very quiet with a little added hollow metallic whooshing sound.

I sent a message asking how their header might affect a smog test and if they plan to get CARB approval. They said, "not sure how strict that your Carb Board is out there. I can't say if it will pass or fail. That is all on your end. And as of right now we aren't sure if we are going to get it carb approved"

I also asked if it will fit the 2014 model year (I think there was a question about that somewhere here?). They said, "It will work on the 2014, it is the same motor."

My financial adviser approved a header purchase this morning! :D She wanted me to get a hard bed cover, but I'd rather spend less and get the header. Ordered it this afternoon, should get by the end of the week ! ! !

I probably won't install right away. I want to change the muffler first so I can hear if the header makes any difference in sound.
