Difference(s) betwixt RegCab 4x4,Manual vs. Automatic...

So far I can see these differences between the two...
Manual:bench
Automatic:buckets and console

Manual:lighter weight
Automatic:A little heavier

Automatic is a $1000.oo more for being auto...


What else am I missing that is different between these two?

I might be getting one soon although if there is word soon about generation 3 I will be holding out....maybe.

 

Manual is 5 speed, auto is 4. Manuals have what I think is better resale even though they have a cheaper new sale price.

I dont think manual transmission is really covered in extended warrenties.

Also the auto gets better mpg. Manuals often need a new clutch after about 60k.

 

I test drove a manual and I could see myself at 50k with the clutch and mpgs.

In the manuals I had, my left foot and right hand are so busy shifting......one barely has time to get a drink or tune the radio. They are fun to drive but it gol old (like me) in short order.

 

Im at 70,000 and on the original clutch. No slippage so far, though it does rattle a bit when the A/C is on. I will say that the manual is NOT smooth though. I had a 50,000 mile learning curve, and i still clunk into 2nd almost every time.

 

Yeah,that's what I'm think'n.
Fun for a while then a nuisance in heavy city traffic.

Prob go with auto.It's just me and the wife now so no need for bench seat in a reg cab.
