Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The general concensus on several forums is that a bag of these taped to the engine will out perform any other "chip"

If you are looking for large gains then you need to S/C or Turbo. Headers will get a few extra ponies

For what it costs to "real" power out of the 2.7 you're better off to just get a truck with the V6.

stay away from chips - they all suck no matter how expensive they are. If you dont want to go turbo or SC (big jump in power) then invest in a header and exhaust and you will get a little bit of power.

might want to check out the MAFC from URD. Not too popular for the 4 bangers, but after talking with G IIRC he mentioned something like 10-12 whp which happens around 5k rpm lol

It would be a reasonable investment though if it would eliminate the speed governor so you could actually do 3rd-gear dyno pulls instead of being cut short at 4,500-ish RPM/110 MPH wheel speed...

One of the reasons I was eyeing it up.

Not the "chip" though, the "performance module"... plug in programmer.

    Any alternatives to JET?

What? You're kidding, right!? You can't even flash the ROM on the factory Toyota ECU to eliminate those parameters?

That sucks balls. I'll bet pushing the fuel cut to 6,000 is also out of the question, then.

Also, no way in hell I'd part with the growl of my 2TR. It sounds like a crossbreed of a Detroit Diesel 2-stroke V8 and a Subaru H4.
