    Interesting... I wouldn't think a toneau cover would make any difference in fuel mileage in low-speed city driving where aerodynamics don't have much (any?) effect. Are you sure your increase isn't due to something else? Better driving habits maybe?

    Tonneau Cover, spray painted stock rims.

    I think my MPG has increased b/c of driving habbits and the lid also. I heard someone say you could increase mileage buy installing a drop in filter?? Would that be something like a K&N filter?? Im a newbie so im not fimilar with all the terms..

    Well, wether they increase fuel mileage is debatable, but yeah... some people like the K&N, but the AFE Pro-Dry seems to be more popular on here. Supposedly it flows and filters just as well (or better), but you don't have to oil it. The problem with the K&N is if you over-oil it after cleaning it, oil can get sucked into the throttle body and screw up the mass air sensor. I've used K&N's on other vehicles, but I'm still running the stock paper filter on my Tacoma. I haven't tried the AFE, so I really don't have an opinion on it one way or the other.

    Changed 16'' for 17'' Put the camper , Headlights ,clear corner lights and signal lights . and new upholstery by myself.
    Use the recommended tire size.

    :mad:I went to anything auto site ,Put in my 2010 V6 Tacoma and it shows that
    the AFE , this product is not available for 2010 Toyota Tacoma at this time ..Where are you guys getting it ,thanks

    Keep the RPM's under 2000 and drive 55mph in slow lane, try it!

    The Mythbusters did two shows concerning the MPG differences between truck caps, tonneau covers, tailgate only, no tailgate, and that silly tailgate net thing. Both times the tailgate net thing produced the best MPG. Something to do with turbulence. Go figure.

    I have a 07 Tacoma double cab and I really like the look of 33's with 20 inch wheels, but I'm concerned with the MPG, some say it makes a big difference others say not too much of a difference. Also I would have to lift it either 3 or 6 inches for a off road look. Please advice.

    Roll n Lock, Exhaust, wheels, stereo, speakers
    I use nitrogen in my tires and it helps, also have a Roll n lock bedcover to improve air resistance, it also helps

    Just wanted to chime in again. I have been waiting to do my first oil change after breakin period expecting some increase in MPG. Oh boy did it help. I changed to Mobil 1 and even the first tank yielded 3+ MPG's. I didn't change anything else. Just the oil. This goes to show that Maintenence and breakin are key factors in MPG. I am now getting 20+ MPG in my PreRunner. This summer I will be getting some all season tires and will keep all of you posted on how it goes.

    Just for comparison's sake, my V6/Auto numbers for similar conditions are about 18 mpg on interstate and 23.5 (pretty consistently) on backroads at 55.

    Just did my first oil change this weekend @ 3500 miles. I am looking forward to how far this tank goes w/ mobil 1 5w30 and a wix filter.

    No matter if Taco gets One or Thirty; I will always have a Tacoma in the Drive Way. Would sometimes like twenty five or so. But I knew this when I bought.
