So i drive 95% city and average 320 miles till the gas light comes on. A lot of my driving is stop and go and under 30 mph (Fort campbell speed limits). I shift right at 2500rpms. Is this normal mpg or is it doing terrible? I see people saying they get 400 city. I have a 2015 4x4 access cab 2.7l

This is about right. I have a 2013 AC 4X4 2.7L and I can get between 350 and 400 on a tank but that is strictly highway miles driving the speed limit.

For mostly city driving, you are in the ball park. There is a lot of chest thumping and bragging about gas mileage on here you will find. Most of it is BS.

You may also notice your mileage improves some with the addition of more miles on the odometer as the engine breaks in.

I average between 23-24 mpg and that is probably 85-90% city driving where I never get above 40 mph.

Not sure who's getting 400 to a tank with all city driving. I get close to 400 to a tank, with mostly highway driving. My average MPG is 20-22, but if I roll highway for an entire tank I'm getting 27-29 MPG.

Our trucks probably weigh similarly, I have a DCSB prerunner with the 2.7/auto. I'd say you're getting pretty good mileage for driving around town so much.

21.1 gallons... I"ve had my truck running on the light for prob 25-30 mile once. Thought for sure I was going to run out,. didn't. Only was able to put in like 18.7 gallons. The fuel pump is in the tank and they didn't account for it, has any one even come close to putting in 21 gallons?
    Sorry thread jack.

That strikes me as atrocious, but you are running low speed and you've got the 4x4, I know that can take some MPGs off.

For reference, 2wd regular cab, stock, mostly city, never gotten under 400 out of a tank. Have you put larger tires/wheels on? I know that can do a number on your mileage.

There the stock 30 inch tires. When i say stop and go i mean i don't even make it a mile in between stops. and get only up to 3rd gear at most. and i drive this way id say 80% of the time.

when my gas light comes on it fills with 17 gallons. And preerunner man is yourse 2wd? I think the extra weight of the 4wd and my driving situations is why i only average 18.5mpg between 4 fillups.

Light comes on at around 17 gal left, so 320/17 = ~19mpg. Seems about right for city driving. I get 21 combined city/hwy with 265s.
