I have an 07 Tacoma 4 cyl. I have a camper that I tow. The towing weight is approx. 3000#. The 4 cyl is fine for short trips. But I would like to have a little more power for longer trips. What recommendations would you suggest? New chip, larger exhaust, cold air intake .....?

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
urd sells a S/C kit that will bring u up to about what the v6 puts out, or since it would be super easy to get a manifold made for a turbo on an I4 u could do that and crank out 300 ish by my estimates. just depends on how deep ur pockets are. also there are some people on here that have seen pretty good gains from headers and A/E mufflers on the 2.7, unlike the 4.0 unless its blown.

Power costs money. Bigger engine or forced induction, pretty much the end of your options. All the regular bolts ons, if you buy them all would have been a giant waste of money. When you add up the 'gains' you have a net that doesn't do the job you're after.

The CHEAPEST and imo best method to make your truck tow better, assuming you tow often, is deeper gears. If you don't tow that often, just accept the suck :)

Boost is the only way to gain the power that you're looking for without changing the motor. The URD kit is an easy install though time consuming with a bit of mechanical skill. Plus URd makes several versions of the kit depending on how willing and far you want to mod the engine. Getting a Turbo installed and running right is much more challenging but can be cheaper at the end of the day, unless you blow a motor.

Regear it. Get a lce header and footers intake spacer. That's about it besides a supercharger which is 4500 or so.

Drop it down a gear and just ride. A 3000# trailer shouldn't be a big deal. No hurry.

A S/C gives the Tacoma the sort of torque it should of come with stock IMHO. To each his own but I wouldn't knock one until you've drove a truck with one.

No, the TRD kit will obviously not fit a I4 Tacoma. URD makes a rotary supercharger kit that makes very good power.

don't listen to those comments. The only way to improve horsepower is to stick a tacomaworld sticker on your window.

I personally gain an additional 10 horsepower just by putting the sticker on the back of the truck.

I have not installed one yet, but read that several people have gained noticeable power from the LCE header. It is on my list.
