ok, I have a 5 speed 2.7 Prerunner. It does this weird thing if I shift with low rpm's where it like misses and seems like it is going to bog out. It only does it from 1st to second and sometimes to third. I have 100k miles on it and it has not really done this in the 70k miles that I have owned it.

    Is it the spark plugs?

    Is it a vacuum hose?

    I need some help.

if the noise goes away when your foot is off the gas pedal, you probably shift at too low RPM

try land your engine RPM above 1500 when up shift into next gear, typically meaning begin upshifting at around 2500

    ^^What he said^^

I usually shift about 2000 RPM and have no problem. Increasing at 2500 RPM would be sufficient, but anything above that, you're "hot rodding" it.
