Alright, I know it has been a few years, but it is time for my 60K maintenance so I will try to take pics to fill in all the gaps!

Aloha! Truckers! This is Kalaukia37 Here. Long Time No See. I just wanted to Inform All of You 4 Wheelers that, If it is your Hobby, That is Great, But the Gas Mileage in Not So Hot. Here in Hawaii We are Paying $4.50 Per Gal. of Reg. Now that is a RIP OFF. There Are alot of guys Giving up 4 Wheeling. This Gas Is Really Cutting INTO Our Pockets. THANK GOD My 1998 SR5V6 5 Speed Ext. Cab. IS A 2 WHEEL Drive Gets Really Good Gas Mileage. I Have 80K On it Now. I Average Between 25 TO 29 MPG. With the AIR ON. Here is the Islands WE NEED It. I have Read where 4 x4 V 6 3.4L Are only Getting 17 MPG. My Good Friend has the Same Truck as me, But He Tells me that His MPG Is Horrible. The only Engine Mod I Did Was To Open my Air Box Up, Right In Front of the Air Filter, I Put a Piece of Fine Screen, ans Painted it Black. It Really Made A Differance in Getting Up a Go. the 3.4L Is a Very Good Engine. All the other Things about Getting Better are Very Straight Foward. I know that if You have a V6, sometimes it is Hard if Someone Wants to See How Fast his V6 OR V8 is. Well I can tell You, the V6s Really Rock in that Department. Many V8s Have Eaten the dust.

Well Good Trucking
And May THE GOOD LORD
KEEP YOU ALL IN GREAT HEALTH!
Aloha! Kalaukia37

I just want to thank all who contributed to this guide. I would never have attempted most of this stuff without the great instructions and pics.

I'll 2nd that, after 3 trans/diff fluid changes my drain/fill bolts were just about shot from the poor fit of the 24mm. Got a new set of bolts at the stealer (less than $2 apiece), took them to the tool store and tested both. the non-metric fits perfectly!
