    Engine degreaser on a warm (not hot) engine.
    Let soak 3-5 min.
    Powerwash works wonders.
    Use care not to blast it on delicate stuff.
    Done this many a time - no issues.
    Electric bottom end Simonize power washer.....
    Had a 5hp gas unit once - that unit would be inappropriate to powerwash your engine with. Took the paint off my Blazer.

    just engine degreaser. spray down for a couple of minuets and hose it down. let it dry and detail with turtle wax or something...
