Flowmaster 40 or 50 series for my 2.7l taco?

i'm going to get a new flowmaster muffler installed 2moro, but i don't know if i should go with the 40 or 50 delta flow....i don't want magnaflow cuz they sound ricey to me on the 2.7's. but i don't really want a super loud wake up the neighborhood muffler but i still i want to hear it when i step on it....

 

50 series is quieter the the 40 series.

 

yeah id go with the 50 in your case just cause the 40 is the loudest they make. the 40 might wake a few neighboors.

 

i love my 40 on my 4.0 v6. but for the 2.7 i'd go with the 50

 

I had a 50 Series Delta Flow on my 2.3 Ranger and it sounded fine. Not too loud, but not to quiet. I think a 40 Series would make any 4 cylinder too loud...IMO

 

thanks guys, i was leaning towards the 50 series anyways but it's nice to hear from people that actually have one. The good thing about the place that i'm going to is i can drive around the parking lot with the diff types of mufflers on before their welded to hear them before i decide

 

i actually ended up going with the 40 series, it just sounded better than the 50 series. I've watched sound clipss of other guys 4 banger tacos with the 40 series and they sounded kinda ricey to me but maybe since i have the CAI it sounds a little deeper and smoother idk but i really like how it turned out!

 

isnt it true you can lose power witht he 40 series?

 

it depends on the application. i too have heard this but, from what i understand its the way that flowmaster manufactures their exhausts. its mainly for sound than anyhting else
