Oil Change

I just put Syntec oil in my truck i feel only the best for my Sharon aka The Silver Back Beauty. Any of you 4 banger guys use convetional oil? Syntec?

 

I have used Castrol Syntec and Shell Rotella T (both 5w-30) since you can buy them in bulk jugs and they seem a good value for the price. They're not to be confused with Amsoil or even German Castrol, but for non-exotic, non-turbocharged applications, this stuff works just fine. If you went to the BMW dealership, they'd sell you something different, but the Tacoma ain't no Bimmer.

 

I've got nothing against synthetics....in fact....I've used them in the past. But, for the most part, I've always been a dino-juice guy. Castrol GTX and a PureOne filter is my combo of choice and has been for years. And I like to do it every 3k miles. Gives me a good excuse to get up under her and make sure all's good.

 

I run Mobil1 w/ OEM oil filter on my Taco.
