Oil Filter wrench, what size?

    Aftermarket Driving Lights, Hidden Hitch, Removed rear headrests, Side protective moldings, vacuum gauge, Scan Gauge, Leer cap.
    I want to get an end cap style filter wrench, What size and number of flats does the '09 2.7 oil filter use? I need info on the OEM filter, aftermarket are different size.

    I use a K&N but you could go buy one at Toyota and bring it to an auto parts store and find the correct size.

    I just go to the auto parts store and look up the filter on the book they have there and then take the filter out of the box and find the right wrench.

    After market and OEM can vary quite a bit. Chinese blueprinting off a Fram or other non-oem filter to get a filter wrench can be a wasted trip.

    True, I guess I meant the filter you intend on using. Now I reread the OP wants to use OEM, so I guess just go buy one from the dealer and take that to the auto parts store.

    PH 3614 its the same as the 1GR lol so i just steal filters from my dad lol

    yeah normal filter wrenches fail on our trucks...i think you know why lol

    I feel your pain, the first oil change on my truck I took the Purolator Pure One filter out of the box in the parts store and found the perfect cup size oil filter wrench for it. I get home snap the oil filter wrench onto my ratchet and found out it was to big for the factory filter. To top it off the factory filter must be installed my body builders, it was tough getting it off :mad:.
