PreRunner/4x4 = 4.10
5 lug manual = 3.31

anyone running either 255/85/16 or 295/75/16 with their 4 banger and did a regear? what gear did you decide and whats the rpm at about 65 mph?

the diff in height is less than half in and width is 1.5" (width i dont think matter when it comes to gears only height right?)

Both matter, in that they both add weight. Width is probably more important than height since it's the main factor in adding rolling resistance, which you need to consider when you regear (even though you want to go down in RPMs, you still need them higher than normal so you can rotate the damn tires at freeway speeds!)

Don't know if this is good for 2nd gens but it is for 1st gens. Use the bottom chart obviously.

i thought for some reason people regear because of the tire diameter increase. doesnt having a wider tire just do that, give a wider tire? i realize it gives more resistance cause of surface area. i guess i just dont understand why someone would regear for a wider tire until i drove one that had a significant difference..
